Aimee Sayre, M.A., CCC-SLP, is an Assistant Clinical Professor and Academic Clinic Director in the Department of Communication Sciences and Disorders at the University of Kentucky. She oversees the operations of the on-campus speech-language clinic and provides clinical education and supervision to graduate student clinicians, with an emphasis on diagnostic reasoning, evidence-based intervention, and the development of clinical competence.

Her teaching spans undergraduate and graduate coursework in diagnostics, clinical orientation, and clinical practicum. Mrs. Sayre’s scholarly interests center on clinical education, supervision, and innovative approaches to student training. She has contributed to collaborative research and presentations focused on simulation in clinical education, supervision practices, and the development of tools to support student competency, including work related to telehealth training and evaluation. Her work has been presented at state and national conferences, including the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association and the Kentucky Speech-Language-Hearing Association.

In addition to her teaching and research, she is actively engaged in departmental and college service, including curriculum development, student mentorship, and participation in initiatives related to teaching and learning. She also leads Therapy Abroad in CSD, a study abroad program that provides students with hands-on clinical and cultural experiences while exploring global perspectives in speech-language pathology in locations such as Belize and Dominica.

Prior to her academic appointment, Mrs. Sayre spent over a decade in private practice providing comprehensive speech and language services to pediatric clients across outpatient, school, early intervention, and home-based settings. Her clinical experience includes working with children with a wide range of communication disorders, including speech and language delays, autism spectrum disorder, apraxia, fluency, and feeding and swallowing disorders.

She holds a Master of Arts in Speech-Language Pathology from the University of Memphis, a Bachelor of Science in Communication Disorders from The Pennsylvania State University, and a Graduate Certificate in Telehealth from the University of Kentucky. She maintains her Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC-SLP) through the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association and is licensed to practice in Kentucky.
