Serving as the Associate Director of Risk Management, Clinical Risk Manager, and Associate General Counsel during her time at UK Healthcare, Ms. Holbrook is responsible for providing legal assistance, advice and leadership regarding many aspects of care.

She was nominated for this Hall of Fame recognition award for her unwavering commitment and advocacy for quality care and her dedication to the healthcare industry as well her ongoing positive impact in healthcare through improving policies and practices on a local, state and regional level.

Prior to graduating with High Distinction from CHS with a Bachelor of Health Science in Health Care Administration in 1990, Ms. Holbrook served as an ICU nurse. Upon graduating, she immediately pursued a degree in law in order to begin her career as a healthcare attorney.

Following that, she represented the Cabinet for Health and Family Services as legal counsel for many state facilities and agencies within the Cabinet, including development and implementation of the State Olmstead Plan.  Prior to coming to UK in 2008, she was an Assistant Attorney General in the Medicaid Fraud Control Unit where she prosecuted healthcare fraud on behalf of Kentucky Medicaid.

Ms. Holbrook’s extensive and varied experience has allowed her to share her knowledge, leadership and experiences with colleagues and students and positively impact healthcare.

“She is an outstanding role model for the UK CHS students in all areas,” collectively stated by her fellow colleagues, “her reputation at local, state and national levels exhibit outstanding character and it is a great privilege to nominate her to the CHS Hall of Fame.”
