It was a day of celebration, and a day of thanks, said Scott Lephart, PhD and Dean of the College of Health Sciences. 

"This is a celebration that I think is one of our favorite as a College every year," he said. "It's an opportunity to say thanks — not just to those who are receiving awards today, but to everyone."

The occasion was the 2025 CHS Faculty and Staff Awards Celebration, where more than 100 from the College came out to honor recipients of their annual awards. 

Among the awards given included: the Faculty Scholarship Award, the Excellence in Research Awards, awards for teaching and faculty service, and staff awards. 

A new award was created and presented for the first time this year — the Innovation in Teaching Award. 

Recipients included:

"It's kind of astounding," Lephart said. "As we change, as we're growing, the camaraderie amongst you all is incredible ... we refer to each other by our first names. Thank you for getting to know each other."

As the celebration ended, the crowd mingled and enjoyed lunch. 

"We have fun, but we also celebrate successes," Lephart said. "It's one of the things that makes us the best College on this campus."
