Hi! I'm Calista Jarman, and I'm a sophomore from Downingtown, Pennsylvania, which is located near Philadelphia! I am currently a pre-Medical Laboratory Sciences major and have a minor in Jewish Studies. In the future, I would love to work in a clinical microbiology laboratory setting. In addition to being an ambassador for the College of Health Sciences, I am a member of Alpha Chi Omega, the Jewish Heritage Scholar of Excellence, and have an internship that allows me to conduct independent research in Iceland! I also work for the Center for Academic Resources and Enrichment Services (CARES) as a biology peer tutor, which has been such a fulfilling experience. Being from out of state, I was able to quickly learn that getting involved is truly the best way to make UK feel like home. I encourage all incoming freshmen to not be afraid to step outside of their comfort zone and try new things. If you have any questions, please don't hesitate to email me at calistajarman@uky.edu.
