Christy Freadreacea Brady is an Associate Professor in the College of Health Sciences at the University of Kentucky. She has a PhD in Sociology from the University of Kentucky, as well as a graduate certificate in Gender and Women’s Studies. She teaches courses focused on the intersection of health and society including Cultural Humility in Healthcare, Social Determinants of Health, The Social and Cultural Evolution of Disease, and Global Perspectives in Health Sciences. Dr. Brady leads education abroad programs comparing health outcomes in the United States to economically similar countries. She has lead programs in England and France, and is planning a program in Ireland for 2026. Her current research focuses on assessing the development of intercultural knowledge, skills and values through education abroad experiences. She also does research in the Scholarship of Teaching and Learning.
