Being There for Our Students …

Date

Faculty and Staff,

Greetings. I hope all of you are well.

I wanted to write to you today because we have reached the midpoint of the semester, and while we are doing everything possible to create the best learning environment for our students, I also realize this can be a stressful time for them, with exams, social responsibilities and other commitments they might have.

I sent out a message to students today reminding them to make time for themselves, as their mental health depends on it. We have all been through a very challenging year, and in some instances, we tend to forget about that which is most important — our own wellness.

I ask you today to make certain that you are doing everything possible to be there for those students. Remind them that if for any reason, they feel they need help, we have a multitude of resources at their disposal, including:

I just want them to know that if they need help, all they need to do is reach out to us.

I reminded them that we all want nothing more than for them to be successful — and part of that means having a healthy balance while reaching their goals.

Now, I also want to thank you all for everything you have done, and continue to do, for our students every day. It is because of you that we are able to offer such a rewarding experience.

And I would be remiss not to mention that we, too, must maintain a healthy balance. If anyone feels they need any kind of help, do not hesitate to reach out to a colleague, or to utilize the resources mentioned above.

Good luck as we reach the middle of the semester.

Best,

Scott
