Ellen is the Physical Therapy Program Co-Coordinator for Shoulder to Shoulder Global along with colleague, Elizabeth Siereveld. She has served in this role since 2022 where organizes PT student and professionals participation for three interprofessional service learning brigades to Ecuador each year. Ellen received her DPT degree from the University of Kentucky in 2011, where she was drawn by the opportunity for participation with Shoulder to Shoulder Global and traveled to Ecuador twice as a student. Following graduation, she obtained her specialty in orthopedics and has practiced in a variety of settings including outpatient, pediatrics, acute, skilled nursing, and home health as a travel physical therapist. Throughout her career, she has had the opportunity to work with many marginalized people and underserved communities around the States and thrives on bringing physical therapy services to these populations. The opportunity to guide PT students through the brigade service learning trips is the highlight of her physical therapy career thus far.

Ellen, along with her husband (and fellow UKPT grad), Stephen Stockhausen, PT, DPT, OCS and daughter, Kinley reside in Colorado where she enjoys trail-running, hiking, camping, and other outdoor adventures in her free time!
