Jiho Kang, a certified athletic trainer, is a PhD student and assistant researcher in the Department of Athletic Training and Clinical Nutrition at the University of Kentucky. His research focuses on chronic ankle instability, lower extremity biomechanics, postural control, machine learning, and clinical outcomes in athletic training and sports medicine. He earned his Bachelor of Science in Physical Education and Master of Science in Sports Medicine and Athletic Training from Yonsei University, followed by a Master of Arts in Athletic Training from the University of Nebraska at Omaha. His thesis work examined movement control strategies and the effects of dual-task visual interference on balance in individuals with chronic ankle instability.
Kang has published peer-reviewed work in sports rehabilitation, biomechanics, and chronic ankle instability, with studies addressing ankle instability classification, postural control, landing biomechanics, and movement adaptations.
