Ms. Michelle Pérez-Egana earned her Bachelor of Science in Biology from Valdosta State University in Georgia. Over the next six years, she served as a certifying scientist and supervisor at a NIDA-certified toxicology laboratory. Ms. Pérez-Egana then obtained a second bachelor's degree in Medical Laboratory Science from the University of Kentucky. She later worked as a generalist at the Veterans Affairs Medical Center, Troy Bowling Campus. In 2020, Ms. Pérez-Egana became a faculty member in the Medical Laboratory Science program at the University of Kentucky, where she teaches both lecture and laboratory courses. Additionally, she serves as the Clinical Laboratory Science Coordinator.
