Ms. Michelle Pérez-Egana earned her B.S in Biology from Valdosta State University, Georgia. Over the next six years, she was a certifying scientist and supervisor of a NIDA-certified Toxicology laboratory. Ms. Pérez-Egana earned a second bachelor’s degree in Medical Laboratory Science at the University of Kentucky in 2013. She later worked at the Veteran’s Affairs Medical Center, Troy Bowling Campus, where she was a generalist. Ms. Pérez-Egana joined the Medical Laboratory Science program at the University of Kentucky in 2020, where she teaches lecture and laboratory courses and serves as the Clinical Laboratory Science Coordinator. After receiving her master’s in health administration, Ms. Pérez-Egana earned a lecturer position in the Medical Laboratory Science program.

Ms. Pérez-Egana is a member of the American Society of Clinical Pathology (ASCP), the American Society for Clinical Laboratory Science (ASCLS), and the Kentucky Society for Clinical Laboratory Science (KSCLS). She is also a member of the American College of Healthcare Executives (ACHE) and the National Association of Health Service Executives (NAHSE).
