University Awards
Maurice A. Clay Service Award
The University of Kentucky Nu Circle of Omicron Delta Kappa National Leadership Honor Society established the Maurice A. Clay Awards over 30 years ago to recognize an outstanding graduating senior in each academic college at the University of Kentucky. Winners are selected by the college’s dean or a dean’s representative, and are expected to be exceptional leaders who have provided service to their college while maintaining a strong academic record.
College Awards
Dean's Award for Excellence in Service
Presented to student who demonstrated outstanding achievement in college and/or university service activities and/or professional activities. Up to two students can be awarded each year.
Marie C. Vittetoe Award for Excellence in Service to the Community
Presented to a student who demonstrates outstanding service achievement in national or international activities.
Robinson Graduate Awards for Research Creativity
Two Robinson Graduate Awards for Research Creativity are presented annually to graduate students affiliated with the College of Health Sciences who are working on an advanced degree. The awards may be presented to two students (one at the doctoral level and one at either the master’s level or clinical doctorate level) who demonstrate and are engaged in productive and successful scientific research.

Department Awards
Center of Excellence in Rural Health Medical Laboratory Science Faculty Award
Recognize a student who exemplifies excellence; GPA 3.0+, essay and significant contribution to profession. Selected by Medical Laboratory faculty.
CLM Student Academic Award
Recognizes academic excellence in the Clinical Leadership and Management program; Cumulative GPA of 3.75 and vote of the CLM Faculty.
CLM Perseverance and Exceptional Commitment to Learning Award
This award will be awarded to one junior or senior level student each year who has demonstrated perseverance and an exceptional commitment to learning. To be selected for this award:
- Students may self-nominate or be nominated by faculty and/or staff with whom they have studied in or out of UK.
- Submit an essay of less than 500 words.
- Demonstrate as a committed learner, how they have persevered in achievement of the EEQ qualities and in attaining their personal goals.
Eileen Van Dyke Rural Service Award
Recognizes a Morehead PA student who exemplifies excellence in academics and service to the community and has proven themselves to be wholeheartedly interested in the welfare of rural Kentuckians.
HHS Academic Excellence Award
Recognizes academic excellence in the Human Health Sciences program; Cumulative GPA of 4.0 and vote of the HHS Faculty.
HHS Research & Scholarship Award
Recognizes a student who demonstrates excellence in undergraduate research and/or scholarship.
Medical Laboratory Sciences Faculty Award
Recognize excellence in both scholarly and professionalism; GPA 3.5+ and selected by Medical Laboratory Sciences faculty.
Outstanding Graduate Student in Athletic Training
Recognizes two outstanding graduate students in the Professional athletic training program; Must have a GPA ≥ 3.5, demonstrated leadership and service within the Program/College, Profession or community. Awardees will be selected by core Program faculty.
Outstanding Graduate Student in Communication Sciences & Disorders
Recognize most outstanding student completing the Master of Science in Communication Disorders; Outstanding performance in academic and clinical work. Selected by Communication Disorders faculty
Physician Assistant Studies Award
Senior student demonstrating outstanding academic and clinical performance during senior year, at both Lexington & Morehead campuses.
Physical Therapy Outstanding Student Award
Special accomplishments / contributions of a graduating student, at both Lexington & Hazard campuses; Performance, leadership and service; Selected by the Physical Therapy faculty.
Scarlett Parsley-Hooker Award
Annual award to undergrad or grad student in Communication Disorders; awarded to a student who has a broad spectrum of abilities that will serve the student well in their personal & professional life: responsible, kind, gracious and focused
