Faculty Awards
CHS Excellence in Faculty Service Award
- Award is open to any full-time faculty member within the College, regardless of title series or tenure eligibility status
- Nominations may be submitted by any faculty member through the department’s Chair- No self-nominations or anonymous nominations will be accepted
Application includes:
- a one-page statement from the Department Chair describing why the faculty nominee should be considered,
- curriculum vitae, to include only materials that pertain directly to service (5 pages maximum),
- service outcome materials (i.e., publications, evidence of service impact, etc.)
CHS Awards for Excellence in Research | Early Stage Investigator
This award is designed to recognize, reward and encourage the research achievements of CHS faculty. The Early Stage Investigator award is in recognition of a researcher, at the level of assistant professor, who has made and is likely to continue to make, significant contributions to their field.
CHS Awards for Excellence in Research | Senior Investigator
This award is designed to recognize, reward and encourage the research achievements of CHS faculty. The Senior Investigator award is in recognition of establishment of a productive, independently funded research program that makes a major impact in their discipline.
Excellence in Faculty Scholarship Awards | Early Stage Faculty
This award identifies and rewards faculty members who have made significant contributions to their discipline as evidenced by publication(s), invited presentation(s), and/or recognition by professional organizations or community. It is open to any full‐time faculty member within the College of Health Sciences, regardless of title series or tenure eligibility status. Early‐stage faculty are within 10 years of completing their terminal degree.
Excellence in Faculty Scholarship Awards | Senior Faculty
This award identifies and rewards faculty members who have made significant contributions to their discipline as evidenced by publication(s), invited presentation(s), and/or recognition by professional organizations or community. It is open to any full‐time faculty member within the College of Health Sciences, regardless of title series or tenure eligibility status. Senior faculty are more than 10 years beyond completion of their terminal degree.
Kingston Award for Excellence in Teaching
The Kingston Award was established in recognition of Richard “Dick” Kingston’s creativity and innovation in education. The award consists of an individual plaque and medal, the addition of the recipient’s name to a master plaque, and a monetary award. This award initially (1984) was instituted as a means for the College to recognize, reward, and encourage innovation in the classroom, laboratory, and clinic.
Thus, the award recognizes “excellence in teaching” in two broad categories:
- Category 1: Creative or innovative teaching procedure or project.
- Category 2: Long term consistent excellence (3+ years) in didactic, laboratory, and other educational forums (such as student advising) and/or outstanding, long-standing contribution to the College’s educational program.
All nominations must be made no later than end of day on March 22nd, 2024.
Staff Awards
Staff Excellence of the Year Award | Exempt
This award is to recognize an exempt full-time staff member who has demonstrated exemplary ability and outstanding performance in their positions and who have contributed to the overall success of the College of Health Sciences. The recipients will be recognized by the College with a framed certificate and cash award.
We are requesting your nominations of eligible staff members in our College by March 15th.
Staff Excellence of the Year Award | Non-Exempt
This award is to recognize a non-exempt full-time staff member who has demonstrated exemplary ability and outstanding performance in their positions and who have contributed to the overall success of the College of Health Sciences. The recipients will be recognized by the College with a framed certificate and cash award.
We are requesting your nominations of eligible staff (exempt and non-exempt) members in our College by March 15th.
