Chorong Oh, PhD. is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Communication Sciences and Disorders. She earned her Ph.D. in Communication Science and Disorders from Florida State University. Before joining UK, she served as an Associate Professor in the Department of Hearing, Speech & Language Sciences at Ohio University. She is the director of the Cognitive Aging and REsilience (CARE) Lab, which is dedicated to identifying cognitive impairments at the earliest possible stages. Her academic and leadership roles reflect a deep commitment to advancing early detection and intervention in cognitive aging.
Building on this commitment, Dr. Oh’s research focuses on early behavioral markers of dementia, with particular emphasis on cognitive-motor interactions (e.g., gait and balance changes) and cognitive-communication decline (e.g., acoustics speech changes). Her interdisciplinary work draws from cognitive neuroscience, linguistics, acoustic analysis, and psychosocial research to develop more sensitive indicators of neurodegenerative disease.
Outside of work, Dr. Oh enjoys exploring coffee shops, discovering dog-friendly places, hiking, and traveling with her family.
