Dr. Carper is an Associate Professor at the University of Kentucky College of Health Sciences and serves as the Associate Program Director for the Physical Therapy Department. She specializes in teaching physical therapy administration, ethics and foundational clinical skills. Before joining the college, Dr. Carper spent over 20 years practicing in a rural outpatient physical therapy clinic, gaining diverse experience across acute care, school-based pediatrics, skilled nursing facilities, home health, and onsite industrial therapy. She also held leadership roles as a clinic director and business co-owner. Active within the American Physical Therapy Association and in university service, Dr. Carper currently contributes her expertise as a member of the Kentucky Board of Physical Therapy.
