Dr. Sharlee Burch holds academic degrees in the fields of Dental Hygiene, Public Health and Education. She has been working in higher education, healthcare and non-profit administration, oral health research and community based public health practice for over two decades. Her research projects have included statewide oral health surveillance, Appalachian and rural health disparities, maternal and child health literacy, tobacco education and programming, and oral health professionals response to drug endangered children. Dr. Burch is an instructional expert in the areas of online teaching, curriculum effectiveness, faculty engagement, student success and service-learning pedagogy. She is a Past President of the American Dental Hygienists' Association.
