Celebrating PA's 30th Anniversary on the Morehead Campus

For 50 years, the Physician Assistant Studies program at the University of Kentucky has been framing the past and inspiring the future by creating the healthcare leaders of tomorrow. And for 30 years, we've been doing it on our Morehead Campus. That's right — since 1996, we expanded the mission of the UKPA program by preparing future rural health care practitioners and leaders to provide competent and compassionate care in our most medically underserved communities.

On Oct. 23, we will celebrate the 30th anniversary of the PA program at the Morehead Campus, and to prepare, we want to share out some of our PA history. Each month, we'll share a bit more on our website and social media, highlighting who we are and what we do. 

Back in 1996, the UKPA announced a rural campus at Morehead State University. There were eight students in the first UK PA Morehead class, and the first cohort graduated in 1998.
