DEI Hosts Welcome Back with Center for Graduate and Professional Diversity Initiatives

On Tuesday, the College of Health Sciences' Office of Diversity, Equity & Inclusion hosted a welcome back event with the Center for Graduate and Professional Diversity Initiatives.

John Blaine, director of the Center for Graduate and Professional Diversity Initiatives, explained how the Center serves the diverse graduate and professional students across UK’s 16 colleges. Part of the center's goal is to help maintain an inclusive campus environment, he said. 

In order to do so, they sponsor several support groups, including: 

 

• My Brother’s Keeper - to empower men of color at the University of Kentucky
  
   
• Sister Circle - to empower women of color through experiences
  
   
• OUTGrads - a collaborative community with Office of LGBTQ Resources
  
   
• Networking @ Night - networking events among various disciplines at local restaurants in the Lexington community 
  
   
• Wellness Wednesday and Mediation Monday
