After a year of running virtually, Doctor of Physical Therapy students are ready to do the real thing again — outside.
Saturday at Coldstream Park, students will participate in the 23rd annual “Run for Your Life 5K,” a race that helps raise money to fund the National Physical Therapy Exam board prep course and the Samaritan’s Touch Physical Therapy Clinic.
One of the larger fundraising events the students participate in, they work toward reaching a goal of $10,000 throughout their three years in the program. But they also try to promote a healthy lifestyle in their community.
“After a whirlwind of a year for everyone, I'm so thankful we are able to host the run in person,” said Taylor Clan, a Physical Therapy student in the Class of 2022. “It not only plays a major role in supporting the students in the UK Doctor of Physical Therapy Program, but also brings the community together to promote healthy living with physical activity. I'm excited to see family and friends come together to support the Class of 2022 in safe and healthy ways.”
There will be music, raffles, T-shirts and snacks. Raffles will include donated items or gift cards from CycleBar, Nothing Bundt Cakes, Athleta, CycleYou, and more.
