Kitzman Featured on Disability Podcast

Patrick Kitzman, PT, PhD, and professor in Physical Therapy and the Rehabilitation Sciences PhD Program in the College of Health Sciences, was recently featured on an episode of the Demand & Disrupt Podcast, a show that describes itself as "for people with disabilities by people with disabilities."
"We cover a variety of topics including healthcare, parenting, transportation, occupation, etc., all from the perspective of someone with a disability," their website says. "We will grapple with the idea of disability pride, even as we recognize that every individual is more than their disability. We understand that race, culture, gender, and sexual identity, as well as disability, all play a role in making us each who we are. We won’t shy away from talking about our past, and we have the courage to talk about the future, a future wherein we demand full and equal participation in all aspects of life."
Kitzman appears on Episode 56, which is titled "Innovative Programming to Reach all of Kentucky."
He talks with the host about about assistive technologies and "innovative programs to help get assistive technology to the people who need it most across all of Kentucky."
Kitzman received a MS degree from the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee and a PhD in Neuroscience from Ohio State University in 1994. He conducted a postdoctoral Fellowship in Neuroscience at the University of Kentucky from 1994-1997. In 1999, he received a BS and MS in Physical Therapy from the University of Kentucky.
