Meet Josie Bailey, CHS’ Newest IG Influencer

Josie Bailey apparently needed one more thing to do in her busy life.

Her calendar is already jam-packed with activities, from serving as the In-patient Coordinator for the Family Relations Committee for DanceBlue, as well as a Panhellenic Delegate for the Chi Omega sorority, participating in the Healthcare Administration Student Association, and working as a Group Fitness Instructor. She’s also interning in marketing and community events at Sayre Christian Village and the American Heart Association.

Now, Josie — a 20-year-old junior Clinical Leadership and Management major from Oldham County — will also be working as the new Instagram influencer for the College of Health Sciences.

“I grew up in a family of die-hard UK fans and it was always a dream to be a Wildcat!” she said. “UK felt like a home away from home as soon as I stepped on campus.”

Josie said she hopes to relay just how much fun students can have in the College of Health Sciences.

“I hope to show anyone interested in the College of Health Sciences all the wide variety of ways you can get plugged in to the UK community and Lexington life,” she said. “Whether it’s current UK students interested in switching majors, or high school students looking for programs that fuel their passions, here in CHS, there’s something for everyone. I want to show just a few ways you can get involved, as well as all the fun things in between.”

Growing up, Josie said she always knew she wanted to be in healthcare.

“But I knew the clinical side was not the best fit,” she said. “Clinical Leadership and Management put all my passions in healthcare into one major and has continued to help me grow and learn about all the opportunities within healthcare. I love CLM because of the incredible professors who set you up for success, and my peers, who I learn from daily.”

In the future, Josie said she wants to work for a healthcare organization or a non-profit on the development side. Ultimately, she wants to help her community. But first, she wants to help the younger students in CHS.

“The College of Health Sciences have introduced me to people who not only bring joy into my life, but continue to make me a better person in and out of the classroom,” she said. “Now, as an upper classman, I want to be this person to new students. The people in careers you look up to were once in your shoes and will help you grow and succeed. You are the only one in the way of making it happen!”
