UKPA Class of 2026 Celebrates Black Bag Ceremony

Congratulations to those students in the UKPA Class of 2026 who recently celebrated their Black Bag Ceremony!

Students from both the Lexington and Morehead campuses were recognized, as the Black Bag event is the first time the students receive their tools for assessing and treating patients.

In these photos you’ll see the classes celebrating the start of their clinical year and receiving their black bags for the PAS 650 course.

Among the tools are a stethoscope, reflex hammer, and suturing supplies.

Assistant Professor Joshua Burkhart, MSPAS, PA-C (and also an alumnus of the Department of Physician Assistant Studies) teaches the PAS 650 course, which leads the event.
