Scott M. Lephart, 2015

Scott M. Lephart, Ph.D., a nationally respected sports medicine and military human performance scholar, named Dean of UK College of Health Sciences

We are excited to announce that Scott M. Lephart, Ph.D., will join the UK College of Health Sciences as its fourth Dean in March 2015. He is currently at the University of Pittsburgh, where he serves as Distinguished Professor and Chair of the Department of Sports Medicine and Nutrition in the School of Health and Rehabilitation Sciences, as well as the Director of the Neuromuscular Research Laboratory and Warrior Human Performance Research Center. He also serves as Professor in the Department of Orthopaedic Surgery, School of Medicine.

Dr. Lephart has been with the University of Pittsburgh for 27 years. He brings his experience and success in building and developing academic programs and a research enterprise to the College of Health Sciences.

"Scott has demonstrated impressive leadership in developing partnerships between academic units in allied health and an academic medical center, and has cultivated meaningful relationships with federal funding agencies, private and public foundations, and the industry," UK Provost Christine Riordan, Ph.D., said in making the appointment. "President Capilouto and I are excited that he will bring a national reputation as a scholar in some critically important areas to a college that has had a growing research presence and impact in recent years."
