This year, the College of Health Sciences is spotlighting alumni from the Department of Health and Clinical Sciences in Where Are They Now posts.

Today, we'll hear from Blanca Orozco, a 2023 Clinical Leadership and Management graduate:

"I'm currently the Director of Operations for the spoken language division of Sign Language Network of Kentucky, an interpreter agency in Lexington," she said. "We provide language access (sign language and spoken languages) to healthcare, social, and educational settings across the commonwealth. I supervise a team of 49 language interpreters and one scheduling coordinator and also do field interpreting work alongside my team. In my free time I enjoy traveling, spending time with my son, husband, and dog. I couldn't have reached this amazing, fulfilling, and important goal in my professional journey without my degree in Clinical Leadership and Management. I will always be grateful for the opportunity offered by the College of Health Sciences with this online and robust curriculum that has prepared me with important tools to be successful in my role."

And what was her favorite memory while she was here?

"My favorite part about this program was the fact that all the material in the courses was immediately applicable to my professional life because the curriculum was designed that way," she said. "It is for working professionals and that is the only reason I was able to stick with it through the years and not get tugged away by life events. I will always be grateful for the online/asynchronous design of this curriculum."
