The College of Health Sciences is spotlighting alumni from the Department of Health and Clinical Sciences in Where Are They Now posts.
Today, we'll hear from Claire Miller Weeks, a May 2020 Clinical Leadership and Management graduate:
Claire has spent the past six years working in quality improvement across both healthcare systems and Kentucky’s Cabinet for Health and Family Services. Since taking Dr. Ming-Yuan Chih’s quality improvement course, she has been driven by a long-term goal of building a career in healthcare quality. She is currently a full-time Quality Improvement Advisor with UK HealthCare’s Kentucky Regional Extension Center, where she serves as a trusted partner to practices across Kentucky, helping them navigate the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) Quality Payment Program.
In this role, she also supports public health initiatives such as improving screening rates for social determinants of health, advancing asthma programs, and expanding access to tobacco cessation referrals. Her work allows her to blend strategic thinking with a strong commitment to making care more effective, equitable, and accessible. Outside of work, Claire enjoys spoiling her two shih tzus, Harper and Harlow, and spending time on activities that energize and inspire her, such as teaching group fitness, thrifting, and home projects.
And what was her favorite memory from UK?
"Some favorite college memories were made during late-night library sessions at Willy T," she says. "It was where I was able to make some of my best friends to this day."
