Two million people in the United States have Aphasia, a neurological disorder that impairs a person’s ability to speak and write, yet only 20 percent of the healthcare population know how to treat these patients. In the College of Health Sciences, we have Dr. Christen Page, who is not only a teacher, but is also the director of the UK Aphasia Lab.
Currently, Page is treating about 25 patients in her lab, working with them to develop different ways of expressing themselves. She also works with those in the community to better understand those who have Aphasia. Come with us, as we help educate the public … on this episode of The Way Podcast.
