How do students apply to the AuD program at the University of Kentucky?
Our program uses the Centralized Application Services for Communication Sciences and Disorders (CSDCAS).

Required University Disclosures
The Annual Safety and Security Report includes the latest statistics for the previous three years concerning reported crimes that occurred on campus; in certain off-campus buildings owned or controlled by UK; and on public property immediately adjacent to campus. The report also includes institutional policies concerning campus security. You can access the report at http://go.uky.edu/safetyreport. Paper copies will be provided upon request.
The Annual Fire Safety Report includes statistics for the three previous calendar years concerning reported fires in on-campus student housing facilities, such as residence halls, Greek housing, graduate housing, or at any facility designated as a place of residence for students. The report also includes a description of fire safety systems; yearly fire drills; policies on portable electrical appliances, furniture, decorations, bicycles/motorized scooters, and open flames; evacuation procedures; policies on fire safety education and training; and contact information. The Equity in Athletics Disclosure Act (EADA) requires co-educational institutions of higher education that participate in federal student aid and have intercollegiate athletic programs to prepare an annual EADA report. The Report on Athletic Program Participation Rates and Financial Support Data includes athletic participation, staffing, revenues and expenses for men's and women's teams. Is the GRE required for admission to the program?
No. The GRE is not required for all applicants.
What materials do I need to submit with my application?
Applicants must submit the following materials: completed application form, resume/CV, 3 letters of recommendation (at least 1 recommendation from faculty member), and official transcripts. Responses to a written and video prompt will also be required. Please refer to the CSDCAS for a full checklist.
What is the minimum GPA to apply to the AuD program?
The minimum GPA to apply to the program is 3.0 on a 4.0 scale. Applicants should be aware that while 3.0 is the minimum, the average GPA of students applying to doctoral audiology programs typically ranges from 3.4-3.8 on a 4.0 scale.
Are observation hours required for application to the UK Audiology?
No. However, audiology observation hours are strongly recommended to assure that you are familiar with the profession of audiology, the scope of practice, and typical work settings.
Are there prerequisites for admission to the AuD program?
Yes, the program requires a bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university. While not required, coursework in the following areas is strongly encouraged, such as physics, biology, statistics, psychology, communication sciences and disorders, human anatomy and physiology.
How does the interview process work for the AuD program?
After reviewing the application materials, selected applicants will be invited for an interview. The interview may be conducted in-person or virtually and will assess both academic qualifications, non-cognitive abilities and fit for the program. We strongly encourage invited applicants to make every effort to attend in person to be assured that you are a good fit for our program, and we are a good fit for you.
Are there application fee waivers available?
Application fee waivers may be available to qualifying students. To request a fee waiver, please contact the admissions office.
What are the requirements for international students applying to the program?
International students must submit proof of English language proficiency (e.g., TOEFL, IELTS), a visa application, and a credential evaluation for any non-U.S. transcripts. Please visit this page for more information.
What is the application deadline for all student materials to be submitted for the AuD program?
The final application deadline for the UK AuD program is January 15, 2026. Be sure to check the official CSDCAS portal https://csdcas.liaisoncas.org/csdcas-students/ for any updates or specific requirements. Once submitted, CSDCAS requires approximately two weeks to “verify” your academic history, confirming that the coursework and the GPA you entered match your official transcripts.
Do you have open houses planned?
Yes. An open house will be held Friday, November 7, 2025, 2-4pm, and another open house in the spring semester. The Spring date will be updated on the Audiology website.
