Our mission is to serve the citizens of Kentucky and beyond by preparing undergraduate students with the knowledge and skills needed to become pre-professionals in speech-langauge pathology and audiology. We strive to:

  • Prepare students to become outstanding pre-professionals in speech-language pathology and audiology and successful applicants to clinical graduate programs
  • Educate students in the diagnosis, evaluation, and care of individuals across the lifespan who have disorders related to speech sound production, voice, stuttering, comprehension and production of language, communication modalities, hearing, balance, feeding, and swallowing

The UK Department of Communication Sciences & Disorders has a strong commitment to the core values of the University of Kentucky of mutual respect, human dignity and the sense of community. Additionally, our accrediting body requires that our program is “organized and delivered in such a manner that diversity, equity, and inclusion are reflected in the program and throughout academic and clinical education”.
